Who are we?

Hope House is an emergency and transitional living facility and a true community center located in the near southside of Milwaukee. Opened in 1987, Hope House was created to provide a safe, temporary refuge for people needing a place to sleep. Over the years, Hope House has evolved into a complete provider of services for homeless and low income individuals. In addition to residential services, Hope House provides community outreach to individuals needing healthcare, food distribution, financial assistance, and educational opportunities for adults and children. Hope House provides services that aim to end homeless and create healthy communities.

Events

Hope House offers living facilities for individual men and women, and single-parents and intact families. In addition to emergency shelter services for single men, we offer transitional living that provides a stable environment for individuals working towards independent living. Case managers work with the clients to create housing and employment goals and a plan to meet those goals.
The guests of Hope House and neighborhood residents have many educational opportunities. For adults, Hope House offers free GED classes, independent living workshops, and parenting classes. The children can take part in the Shining Stars program, which offers after-school tutoring during the school year and a summer camp experience.

Hope House does so much more than just residential services. In our effort to prevent homelessness, we offer many services to low-income individuals who need some assistance. Hope House offers a free medical clinic, a food pantry, and a protective payee program which assists with financial budgeting.
