Our Shining Stars Youth have been working very hard the past couple of months, preparing for their second annual Youth Art Show, "All Around the World". Last Friday, the gallery opened at the Borg Ward Collective. We had a fantastic turnout with so many proud families, friends, staff and youth. The youth displayed their paintings, sculptures, photos, and other works--and sold quite a bit, too! Our Shining Stars got to experience something that many aspiring artists never get to--displaying their work in a gallery. We learned the whole process of organizing an art show, from top to bottom, as well as lessons in responsibility, leadership, and cooperative decision making. We hope that the youth will hold onto not only their creative skills, but these social and job skills into their adult life, and use them to pursue their grandest dreams. We hope you enjoy some photos from the show! You can view a larger collection on our Facebook page.

Our teen program was responsible for hanging all of the artwork this year. They decided where and how to display each piece.

Youth were very excited about the opportunity to paint on canvases.

Thanks to generous donors such as Great Lakes Distillery, Zak's Cafe, Transfer Pizzeria, Milwaukee Brewing Company, The National Cafe, and La Perla, we had some fantastic raffle prizes to offer!

A wall of paintings and drawings; we have monsters, animals, concepts of our planet & outer space and more.
We would like to express our gratitude for the generosity of the Borg Ward Collective, who donated their gallery and time so that our youth may have a greater understanding of the art world. You can check out their Facebook page for more information. If you would like to help our youth in their creative endeavors, please consider making a financial contribution, or donating art supplies--we always need paper, acrylic paints, canvas, and other tools. Please contact Amanda for more information at (414) 389 3845.
